The second decade of the 21st Century saw the birth of various new technologies, and a continuation of advancements on earlier scientific projects. From wider acceptance of Cryptocurrencies, Increase in Space Exploration Projects, Launching of Reusable Spacecrafts, to the sudden soar in applications of Virtual and Augmented Reality; These rapid fluctuation of trends have made it difficult to place a hand on what the Next Big Thing would be, After the Internet. Yet, following recent Futuristic Trends, we can narrow down the subjects that may emerge in the future to change the future of the modern man and how he interacts with, not just his fellow man and his Environment, but also the entire Universe. So what is the next big thing after the internet?

TRANSHUMANISM

While The Metaverse and The Space Rush are both in pursuit of the vast capabilities of the modern man’s mind, Transhumanism advocates for the amplification of the current capabilities of both the body and the mind of the modern man by predicting and developing the sophisticated technologies needed for enhanced longevity, frame of mind and cognition/discernment. From this, it would be just to state that Transhumanism was born out of in-depth reassessment of man’s subconscious necessities. The effects of trends on the progression of Science and Technology have been underestimated through the years. And so, it is no surprise that Scientific Advancements have ignored the lamentations of Transhumanism.

Stroke, Arthritis, Age Related sicknesses and even death have been normalized, despite the presence of exhaustive researches on their preventability. Thanks to some new advocations from the Transhuman Community and Transhuman Technological Firms, we have seen growth in awareness and acceptance of Transhumanism and Transhuman Technologies respectively, through the past years. The trend had gained elite momentum over the past years , and even caught the attention of Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, who made Billions of dollars Investment bet on Altos Lab, A Silicon Valley based Biotech Company on a mission to develop longevity therapies that can halt or reverse ageing.

The impediment to carrying out further researches had been lack of funding, and had forced the Transhuman Community to resort to the Blockchain to seek funding for Transhuman projects. While it is impossible to own spaces in any other Universal-World apart from the Earth, in the Metaverse, one could own allocations in as many Virtual Worlds as they could afford. The Metaverse is the most trending Technology of the Moment, with almost all known Giant Institutional Establishments Working towards Integrating into the Metaverse.

The Success of the Metaverse is an imminent Reality, In-short, The Metaverse crossed the Reluctant Sentiment of the Cryptocurrency Revolution and received a broader acceptance over the past years. The imminency of the Metaverse is so obvious that most Futuristic Projects are on a rush to integrate their goals into The Metaverse. In truth and briefly put; The Metaverse is the Future of Social Connections.
The Metaverse may become the new face of social connections, which will see massive influx of both individual and Institutional Users and could possibly bring billions of people together; A development that may alter the traditional media and game Industries.

THE SPACE RUSH

The rapid advancements in Space Science and Technology have seen the birth of more and more Space Exploration Projects. These Space Exploration Projects usually costs Billions of Dollars, and hence is limited to Large Capital Establishments and Nation States. NASA, ESA, SpaceX, Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic, Boeing, Rocket Lab and a handful of other Companies and Government Agencies have taken the Giant Stride in Space Exploration. Leading this Rush is SpaceX, SpaceX have been able to develop highly advanced Spacecrafts that stunned our Expectations of Technological Advancements.

The Space Rush stretched further than a mere Astronomical Hunger, As Elon Musk had emphasized; Following the Theoretical Understanding of the Universe, we are at the risk of being exterminated by the doomsday fate of the Earth. But with the Space Rush, Humanity could boast of a second home, should the Sun’s helium nuclei eventually collapse to make the sun become a white giant that will engulf planets within it’s non-habitable zone, of which Earth is one.

It is fair to say that Transhumanism and the Space Rush are on a more Futuristic Time Scale than the Metaverse. The time it will take Humanity to fabricate the technologies for the enhancement of longevity, cognitive abilities and state of mind, plus the time it will take Space Exploration Institutions to perfect the technologies needed to sustain life in Space is enough time to get the Metaverse up and running. While it is impossible to place a sure bet on what the next big thing after the internet may be,we can arrive on a diplomatic conclusion.

WHAT IS THE NEXT BIG THING AFTER THE INTERNET?

The Metaverse have been described as a Trillion Dollar Industry, and have seen more and more institutional acceptance. We may see the Metaverse revolutionize the Internet faster than we think, and hence the Metaverse is closer to our future than the Rush For Space Colonization. The Space have been a subject of interests for decades now, since the First Orbital Launch by Soviet uncrewed Sputnik 1 mission on 4 October 1957, yet due to the vastness of the subject, only fragments of information have been retrieved from beyond the earth.

It is a fair prediction to say that the Space Exploration Race will continue for as long as man’s curiosity persists. On Transhumanism, a growing consciousness that seeks to advance the capabilities of the Human body and mind. While the other trends seeks to advance Human fate in relative to the Universe, Transhumanism seeks to enhance Humanity itself. It is fair to say that Transhumanism, once given the right attention , will grow to become the greatest good that Humanity ever did for Humanity.
